About ESSE

Founded in 2025, esse explores the relationship between functional techno music, the space it occupies, and the presence of the people within it.

The project stems from a fascination with how techno can reach people differently while still serving its core function: anchoring everyone in the same moment. Rhythm, pressure, and repetition are not static. They are continuously shaped by movement, attention, presence, and connection within the space.

This idea drives both the curation and the mission of esse: to give sound a felt existence that requires no explanation.
